Dynamics of Pollutant Transport and Monitoring in Rivers and Coastal Areas

  • Investigation of the dynamics of pollutant transport and environmental monitoring using numerical flow and transport models in coastal waters and estuaries.
  • The results of previous research include the development of new models for assessing the ecological status of coastal water bodies, the introduction of the “Carrying Capacity” concept for assessing coastal water quality risk, and the development of an algorithm for the “upscaling” of measurement data obtained at different spatial scales.
  • The next phase of research is focused on validating the technology under real-world conditions (TRL 6–8) and applying the upscaling algorithm to satellite imagery of water quality parameters.
